Self-knowledge: starting point

To assess the users' profile and make the combinations, we used the HumanGuide® test, developed by Rolf Kenmo in 1999 in Sweden, which aims to determine the personality profile through the motivational profile, according to Leopold Szondi's theory.

Starting from the premise that personal development necessarily involves self-knowledge, Kenmo sought to make the results obtained in HumanGuide® as simple and less hermetic as possible, so that people who undergo the test can benefit from the knowledge of their strengths and weak. Responses to HumanGuide are quantified and represented graphically, also allowing statistical analysis to be performed with the data obtained.

The tool is validated by the Federal Council of Psychology, through SATEPSI, with a guarantee of accuracy and reliability of the results.

HumanGuide® is a fully computerized assessment system, carried out via the Internet, which provides the personality test (personal profile) and four other profiles: ideal partner or work partner profile, third-party profile (how we see other people), professional requirement profile and cultural profile. The result describes the main trends of the respondent, considering the eight factors of needs:

  • sensitivity

Ruled by the feminine principle of passive receptivity. The main need is to establish interpersonal contacts marked by physical and psychological proximity. The orientation of behavior is towards harmonizing the relationship, feeling and anticipating needs, letting oneself be involved and influenced by the surrounding atmosphere.

  • Force

Ruled by the masculine principle, of aggressiveness, domination and imposition, in the sense of seeking the transformation of reality. The main need inherent to this factor is to use one's own physical force or instruments with the power to transform reality, which allow overcoming obstacles. Attacking, overcoming, dominating, breaking, fighting, winning, as well as demolishing, drilling and flattening characterize the actions undertaken by individuals driven by the Force factor.

  • Quality

Ruled by an ethical sense, which is based on preservation and respect for life in general. The main need is to make a difference in people's lives or in society, assuming responsibility and making yourself available to provide some kind of help or assistance. This factor exerts control over behavior, having as a brake the feeling of guilt, being, therefore, associated with the psychoanalytic concept do Super ego. Professional activities aimed at the community or in which it is necessary to assume responsibility correspond to this factor.

  • Exposure

Ruled by the moral sense, that is, by social codes and customs. The need represented by this factor is to be part of the group, to be seen and accepted by the community, to be recognized and admired by the other. The action is determined by the need to expose and show, having the aesthetic sense as its main element. The brake on behavior is shame, the fear of being frowned upon or being laughed at. This factor presents different aspects associated with survival, such as social mimicry, that is, the adoption of dominant codes, clothing and behavior in the environment or in the social group, as a way of being accepted and part of it.

  • Structure

It corresponds to the rational principle, to the sense of reality. The need expressed by this factor is to have control over the environment and over oneself, collecting data, measuring, analyzing and evaluating situations, comparing and classifying, trying to adapt to the limits of reality represented by norms, rules, parameters and procedures. This factor limits the ego insofar as it represents a form of constriction for its need for expansion.

  • Imagination

It expresses the need to expand and deal with what is intangible. It represents the irrational, subjective and intuitive principle, which is expressed in activities that require imagination and creativity. The need is to deal with the new, discovering, researching, studying, creating and developing new things. This factor often appears paired with the Structure factor, thus constituting the basis of scientific thinking, insofar as this factor allows the elaboration of hypotheses, which must be verified through rationality and controlled and standardized procedures.

  • Stability

It corresponds to the need to maintain stability in one's own life, clinging to and conserving bonds and objects. In this sense, activities related to matter, to the past and to possession, such as organic, chemical, historical or financial activities, are attractive, insofar as they allow one to turn to the past, to the origin of things and, thus, recover what is gone through the collection of samples, fragments, records and documents of what has already been. Psychoanalytically, this factor corresponds to anality, to the need to hold or let go, to cling or detach, to turn to old objects or to go out in search of new objects.

  • Contacts

It corresponds to orality, insofar as it aims at contact with other people and at the appreciation of the good things in life, through the search for oral satisfaction, communication and food. This factor represents sociability, the need to have contact with many people, communicating intensely with them. The Contacts factor is associated with optimism, lightness in interpersonal relationships, gregariousness and a sense of humor.

After answering the online test, users will make a feedback with a psychology professional, who will validate the profile, present and discuss the result with them and answer any questions. Although the evaluation system is entirely electronic, the psychologist is responsible for preparing and issuing the report.

We chose this tool for profile analysis because we are certain that self-knowledge is essential to reach a high level of development and, by combining profiles based on personal, social and relationship characteristics, there is a significantly greater probability of excellence in partnerships aimed at the creation, operation and success of a company.
